May 21 at 6:00 p.m.
Seuss Room of Geisel Library, UC San Diego
Sci-Fi Film Screening
Free and open to the public.
The Arthur C. Clarke Center for the Human Imagination and the UC San Diego Library co-sponsor a brief survey of silent sci-fi films from 1898 through 1929. Gary Robbins, science writer at UT San Diego, will moderate comments from a panel of sci-fi movie fans regarding these early silent films. Also that evening, live music from the Library’s Teeny Tiny Pit Orchestra will accompany Fritz Lang’s “Woman in the Moon” (a 1929 sci-fi flick with excellent science!) Orchestral instruments, Theremins and synthesizers provide the live score. (858) 822-5758 for questions.
Seating is limited so register for this free event here: https://womaninthemoon.eventbrite.com
