Matt Kaplan and the "Science of the Magical"

November 10, 2015

If you have ever been curious about elixirs of eternal life, fabled gateways to the underworld, the spells of witches that turn men into beasts or the oracles of ancient Greece, Matt Kaplan is your perfect armchair guide.

The Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination invites you to a talk by noted science journalist and writer, Matt Kaplan, on Tuesday, November 10th at 6:30 pm. Kaplan's latest book is Science of the Magical, available October 27th, 2015.

Matt Kaplan is a science correspondent with The Economist and has contributed weekly articles to its science and technology section for a decade. He has also written for National Geographic, Nature, and The New York Times. When not chained to a desk in England, Kaplan travels the world exploring our most cherished myths and legends.

The UC San Diego bookstore will have copies of Science of the Magical for sale at the event and Matt Kaplan will sign his latest book at the end of the discussion.

Location: Atkinson Auditorium, first floor of Qualcomm Institute/Atkinson Hall.

The event is free and open to the public. Discussion begins at 6:30PM. Please RSVP here:
