Science Fiction Makers Alex Rivera, Beatrice Pita, Rosaura A. Sánchez and Curtis Marez in conversation. Rivera is the director of the film Sleep Dealer and several other films about immigration, labor, and Latina/o futures. Beatrice Pita and Rosaura Sánchez are the authors of Lunar Braceros 2125-2148, a sci-fi novel that explores the dynamic of space travel in relation to the Americas. Curtis Marez is the author of "Cesar Chavez's Video Tape Collection," a SCALAR project on Chicanas/os and Speculative Fiction. The discussion will be moderated by Shelley Streeby, Director of the Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy Writer's Workshop at UC San Diego.
