FutureProofing on BBC Radio 4

January 18, 2017

Sheldon Brown, Director of the Clarke Center, was recently interviewed for BBC Radio 4's show FutureProofing. Hosted by Timandra Harkness and Leo Johnson, FutureProofing is a series examining the implications—social and cultural, economic and political—of the big ideas that are set to transform the way society functions.

This episode of FutureProofing focuses on art, which—according to one of the UK's foremost art teachers—may not survive the 21st century as a separate, meaningful category. Both cultural change and massively increased accessibility to the tools with which to create will have a huge impact on the nature of art itself. This episode explores the impact that technological change will have on art, and speak to artists at the forefront of the digital revolution.
